This article explores the challenges and prospects of creating effective mechanisms for supporting refugees in Lublin. The article is devoted to exploring the challenges and opportunities in assisting refugees, with a particular focus on the experience of Poland in supporting Ukrainian refugees who arrived after February 24, 2022. The article begins by providing an overview of the current global refugee crisis and its impact on both refugees and host countries. It then examines the legal and institutional frameworks that shape refugee protection and assistance, highlighting the need for effective mechanisms to support refugees and prevent human rights violations. This article examines some of the key challenges that hinder the development of effective mechanisms for refugee support, including lack of funding, inadequate legal frameworks, and limited access to essential services. Drawing on the Lublin experience, the article explores key challenges in providing support to Ukrainian refugees, including access to basic needs such as housing, healthcare, and education, as well as legal and employment issues. In addition, the article highlights some of the promising initiatives and approaches that have been developed to address these challenges, such as community-based refugee support programs, innovative financing mechanisms, and partnerships between governments, civil society, and the private sector. The article concludes by emphasizing the importance of international cooperation in addressing the refugee crisis and the need for continued efforts to create effective mechanisms for refugee support. It calls on policymakers, practitioners, and scholars to work together to ensure that the rights and dignity of refugees are protected and that they are able to rebuild their lives in safety and with dignity. © 2023, Berostav Druzstvo.
